Shoppers Drug Mart Scanning Code Of Practice

By Radeyah

Hi,

So I went to Shoppers this morning for the 20x points event. I made a usual grocery list that came to around $55 with taxes.

As, I was leaving that store I felt something didn’t feel right. So, I checked my receipt (something I never do lol) and I noticed that I was charged for Mr.Clean twice ($2.99) and my receipt total was around $65 (confused).

I went back to the cashier and told her. She said, “Oh, I’m sorry let’s fix that.” Before I gave her the receipt back I thought wait, something still doesn’t feel right.

So, after going over it for a 2nd time I noticed I got charged $17.94 for my 3 Tropicana 1.75L Orange Juices. Weird because I saw them in the flyer for $2.99 each.

I pointed it out to the lady and she was like okay I will adjust the price for you. Then I remembered I read somewhere on SC about a policy of the item being under $10 being free, etc etc.

So, I told her about it and she called her manager. He came after 20 mins and started adjusting the price (even the cashier asked him about the incorrect scanning policy) He fully ignored her and then I had to bring it up. He was all confused like huh, what are you talking about? I think he was just acting and didn’t want me to know the entire truth about it.

So, he nodded his head when I said I get it for free right because it’s under $10? I thought I would get the first one ($2.99) for free and pay $5.98 for the other 2.

Instead he credited me $17.94, so I got all 3 free! :D

Please share your thought’s about my incident and has something like this happened to you before?

Thanks for reading

Superstore Optical Great Prices And Service

By Vanessa

I too am a loyal Superstore customer. In order to dispense contacts and glasses you have to be licensed in the field. Having researched before I purchased from Superstore Optical, I found there prices considerably lower for the exact same progressive lens from my Optometrists office. I have had nothing but excellent service from them and very knowledgeable staff.

Excellent Customer Service From London Drugs Computer Department in Ironwood+Kerrisdale‏

By Jim

How many of you will associate computer in a drug store?

London Drugs is probably one of the best place to buy or service Apple as they are the only few places in Vancouver that deals with everything on Mac and PC.

My Macbook Pro went dead some time in Nov 2009. I went back to the Ladner store where I originally bought it from. One of the staff was very kind and told me that they no longer had a technician and suggested me to visit the nearby (10 min away) Richmond Ironwood store as there was an Apple tech there.

The Apple technician there looked at my machine, checked a few things on the computer and concluded that my Macbook Pro had a bad logic board.

Immediately, I was in shock as the unit was only a few months beyond warranty. I spent about $2000 on it and I suppose it would lasted for at least 3 years?

The technician told me it would cost over $1000 for repair when it was out of warranty, but he asked me to leave the computer for him for more diagnostic. I agreed and left the store hoping he was wrong.

He called me in a couple hours, told me that the graphic chip on the board was defective and a new logic board was required. I was in dead silence. He then went on and told me that Apple had a repair extension program for the nVidia graphic problem and my computer fell under the program.

He then told me that even he was certified by Apple to service Apple computer, but the Ironwood location was not an Apple authorized center. My computer would had to be sent to his home store at Kerrisdale in order for him to perform the repair.

The technican then told me that he would ship my computer the next day and order the parts right away; so that when he could repair it once he is at his home store. I asked him about the time it might take and he answered me honestly it could take a week or longer as the logic board was out of stock.

I told him that I couldn’t wait that long. He then told me there was nothing he could do about it as the logic board was in demand. He suggested me to purchase a another Macbook, he would helped me to transfer my stuff from my computer into the new one, then use the new one in the mean time. Once the repair is completed, I could refund the new one and he would transfer my stuff back to my original one.

“You could do that for me?” I asked. This friendly technician told me that I had to purchase the computer at his home store as he had a few open box Macboks there.

I did what he told me, and he got me up and running on one of the open-box Mac in a day. Although this set me down for additional $1200 on my credit card, knowing that I could get a refund later; I didn’t think twice about this. In fact, I started to like this new Mac.

A week passed and the technician called me and told me my Macbook Pro was repaired. He told me to bring everything and gave him another day to transfer my stuff back. I went to the Kerrisdale store again.

I returned the computer and got my money back without any hassle. The technican transferred my stuff back to my machine in a few hours. He even cleaned my dirty Macbook Pro too. He only charged me $60 for the data transfer before and after. Wow! what a deal!

I really want to give my thanks to this young Asian fellow. I think he went above and beyond his duty to satisfy a guy like me who couldn’t live without my computer. I highly recommend London Drugs for their excellent service.

Great service at East Side Mario’s Restaurant Canada

by bridarpet

Had a food issue at the Saint John, N.B. East Side Marios due to home delivery.  Sent an email and right away I received contact from Head Office and the local owner of the restaurant.

Peter Gormley, the owner was very efficient, professional and settled my concern way beyond my wildest imagination.

I would recommend this restaurant to anyone as the service and food in the restaurant is the absolute best.  The issue with the home delivery was a minor one but it was dealt with quickly and professionally.

They are the best.

Great Customer Service at Future Shop and Staples Canada

by Norton Fan

Future Shop had Norton Internet Security 2010 advertised for 44.99$. Thinking this was a good price; my dad went ahead and bought it. The next day the Staples flyer came out with the same product advertised for 29.98$. I went along with him to Future shop to return the product and purchase it instead at Staples. The stores are right beside each so I thought I should go to Staples first and see if NIS had been sold out or still available. It was sold out and wouldn’t be available for 4 weeks. The customer rep was super friendly and apologized. She said that there had been a problem with the order and that I can pre-purchase it and when it arrives I will be called. Great! I tell her I will be back in 10 minutes after making a return at FS. The customer service rep at FS was equally friendly and offered to price match and beat the difference by 10%. I told her that Staples didn’t have it in stock (seems to be the requirement sometimes). She said it wasn’t a problem and gave it at a cheaper price than Staples. She didnt call Staples or ask for a flyer. I ended up getting back 17.xx$. Overall a great experience at both stores.

Brilliant Customer Service at Rexall Pharma Plus (Thorold, ON)

by Fraser Dean

I went into the store to pickup some different items which included several printables for glade products. I entered and recieved a hello and a huge smile. When I was finally finished shopping I had countless coupons and the cashier knew this would take closer to 20 minutes before she was done ringing me up. Instead of the usual dirty stare and sly comments from normal cashiers, she just gave me a smile. While she was ringing the coupons in there was a problem with one as it wouldnt scan. She called the manager and he actually printed out another coupon for me so I could get my 20% off. She also told me that in their flyer there was an additional $2.00 off coupon I could use! The customer service they provided me is such that is not seen in any other stores. This store is at the top when it comes to customer service. Any person living in either Thorold, St. Catharines, or any nearby Niagara town/city should really come to the Rexall Pharma Plus in Thorold when looking for a great store with superb customer service.

Awesome customer service at Staples Canada (Simcoe, ON)

by JSAM_s Mom

I went into the store on Saturday to pick up an SD card for my GPS.  I completely expected to find the store packed and nary a staff member to be found.  I was shocked when I was greeted right away, and asked if they could direct me to find something.  I said I was only picking up an SD card, and she pointed out the direction I needed to go.  A sales clerk was walking out of the back room, walking in my direction, and immediately asked me if he could help me find something.  Although it was obvious it wasn’t the department he was used to working in, he still tried to help me find what I needed.  I found the item, and walked up to the cash and paid.  Keep in mind this was on the last Saturday before school started, so you can imagine it was fairly busy in there.  All told, I was in and out of the store in 5-10 minutes.  Although this store is out of my way, I will try to go back there more often, instead of shopping at the Staples store I usually frequent, which has really crappy service but really convenient for me.

A Happy Story with Loblaws

by Screamy

I frequently buy those “make your own pizza” kits with the shells already made as a semi-frugal way of having a “date” night; the BF loves pizza and I just won’t pay $25 for one I can make at home for  less than $5!

I purchased a package of shells at the Queens Quay store and didn’t notice, until I had already cooked it and we were eating, that it had large spots of grey mold on the bottom of one of the shells (which are concealed by a cardboard insert until you open them).  :(

I keep my receipts for everything, and decided to call customer service to let them know, and to see what they would do.  They were just as nice as pie, and apologized profusely.  I told them I wouldn’t be able to get back to the store for almost a month (not having a car is a bit of a pain sometimes) and they told me not to worry about that, they’d refund my money whenever I came in.

I kept the little cardboard insert to show to them (it had little bits of grey fuzz that I hadn’t noticed when I took the shell out) to prove it, and when I showed it to them, the CSR said, you didn’t need to bring that to us, we would have believed you without it!

The whole process took less than two minutes and I was on my way with my $3.99, and I will definitely continue to shop there because they were so great.

:)

New Orleans Pizza Stratford - Disabled Customers are VERY WELCOME HERE!

by Shirley, Manager of the Stratford New Orleans Pizza

My name is Shirley and I am Manager of the Stratford New Orleans Pizza.

I feel the need to “put my 2 cents” in here and let everyone know the truth behind this outlandish comment.

First of all, I don’t know who this person was talking to, but I can guarantee it WAS NOT the owner of this store. The owner of this store goes way beyond the call of duty for anyone that he can help.  He is a very generous man.  For anyone to say that this man does not care, well, that is just very hard for anyone who knows him to believe. In 1995, the owner paid for improvements to his store which involved the widening of the doorway to the bathroom and that of the hallway by 6 inches to accommodate that of his disabled customers.  We also had  handrails installed in the handicapped washroom for the safety of our customers as well.  The entrance to the store is at ground level except for approximately a 1 inch lip to the doorway threshold.  We do have a second door which is located at the back of the building with a cement ramp and we have had many customers use this door for easy access.  The doors are very easy to open and our staff is always there with a helping hand if needed.  Everything complies with city ordinances.

We have had many disabled customers come to our store and our staff is more than happy and willing to accommodate them in any way possible.

I seriously doubt that this occurence actually occurred. However, if it did, I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience to this customer. New Orleans Pizza does not discriminate against our customers for any reason.  We welcome the disabled with open arms.

I am hoping that this letter puts to rest any misunderstandings that the public may have on us and come to the store and see for yourself.

EVERYONE is welcome at New Orleans Pizza Stratford.

Woolite Oxy Deep Power Shot - Best Carpet Cleaner Ever

by Dea

When I moved into my condo last year, I noticed that there were some really nasty stains on the cream coloured carpet - red wine, spaghetti sauce, and who knows what else, but it was so gross and disgusting.

I finally decided/remembered to buy something to clean it up, and I bought the Woolite Power Shot. I followed the directions, and voila! the stains were completely gone and the carpet didn’t have white spots that come with the “bleached effect”.

I am thrilled to have clean looking carpets! I would recommend this to product to everyone who wants to clean their rugs or carpets.

My only complaint would be that for $7 or so that I paid for it, it didn’t really go far. It cleaned up about 5 stains and the whole can was empty.

But… a great product nonetheless!

Best Cooler ever at Canadian Tire, and it even runs off of Propane! GENIUS!

by juniperjune

This is the best cooler ever! It will run off household current, a cigarette lighter or a bottle of propane. We plugged it in at home over night to cool it down first. In the morning we filled it up, loaded it into the car and plugged it in to the cigarette lighter. Once we were at the camp site we hooked it up to a small propane bottle. One bottle lasted over 24 hours. You can buy a hose adapter and hook it up to a BBQ propane tank. The tank should last at least 20 days.

This cooler cools up to 20°C below ambient temperature. It even comes with an ice cube tray! It really does make ice!

The only draw back is the handles. They are not recessed enough to get a really good grip on it. Plus it would be really good to have a lock on it. The raccoons at the camp site are really bad! What we did was we got a second hand dog cage. We placed the cooler inside and used a bungee cord around the top to keep the odors inside. Then we put a lock on the top of the cage. The raccoons did not even try to open it at all!

You can’t leave this cooler in your car overnight as it would drain the battery, and if it is running on propane, it needs to be properly ventilated. I would suggest the dog cage.

  • Three-way power source absorption cooler
  • Uses 12V DC or 120V AC, propane gas or 12V connector for cigarette lighter
  • Cools to 20°C below ambient temperature
  • A 1-lb cylinder of propane gas operates the cooler for 24 hours
  • 40L capacity
  • Dimensions (LxWxH)/weight: 52.0 x 51.0 x 45.0 cm / 19.5 kg

Canadian Tire has it Reg $279.99
3-Way Power Cooler, 40L : Product #37-0100-6

Mark’s Work Wearhouse Canada - Wonderful!

by poppleton

Right before I was due with our second baby, my husband and I went to MWWH on one of their 20% off evenings  to find some new dress pants for him.  When we got home, we noticed that on the pair of pinstripe pants we bought there was a white faded line down the front of each leg.  I returned to the store to exchange them, but they had none in stock.  I was told that they would order some in, but a couple of weeks later, they still hadn’t arrived.  I had to go back down to the store to try again, and this time the pants were delivered to my door.  With the same stripe down the front :(

I ended up emailing their head office since I didn’t want to head down to the store a third time (we had just had our baby a couple of days before), and received a call the very next morning from the district manager in my area.  He apologized profusely, and said that he would be personally going to a couple of the stores in the city to find a pair of pants that were not discoloured.  He showed up at our door a couple of hours later, again apologizing, and explained that they had a problem with that particular dye lot but he had managed to find one pair in great condition.  He let me look over the pants, again apologized, and let me know that there was a gift card waiting at the store for the amount we had paid for the pants.

Although there were some mix-ups in the beginning, I am so impressed that the company went to such lengths to ensure that we ended up happy with our purchase.  I have never before heard of a store manager personally delivering an item to someone’s house!  They have definitely ensured that we will continue to be frequent customers at their location.
