Fido - Terrible Customer Service

By S SK

Just got off the phone after an hour and a half of trying to convince the customer service Rep Jarold that he has no clue what he’s talking about!!

We switched from a couples plan to individual plans 3 days ago. The rep made a mistake and put us both on the same plan. I was supposed to have a more extensive plan with free w/e, wn, unlike my spouse who was on a basic 50min plan.

When we called to get this corrected, we were told that my plan would not be effective until the next billing cycle and he would do us a favour by giving me free incoming until then! All this when I am being charged for a plan that would ideally give me 150min with free w/e and w/n. The guy would not understand!!!!

Took him over 90mins to get this in his head and finally apologized for being wrong.

He refused to get us to speak to a supervisor and said that they would call us in 24-48hrs as they were on a call currently..ha!

Fido/Rogers really need to get customer reps who understand what they are doing!

Sunlife Insurance

By Unhappy Customer

Found out salesperson did not tell truth about minimum insurance one can buy-IT IS NOT 200000-Sun Life Head Office basically says salesperson can say anything to sell a contract but if something happens only good for what policy states in legal language…..record conversation for possible legal action or better still use different company than Sun Life

Beware Rogers Wireless

By Steve

I was a rogers wireless customer since 1984. I finally had enough of them and switched to Bell (not sure if they are any better but). I was sent my final bill from rogers, 13 days after the bill was issued I was put into collections. I talked to the office of the vice president and was told this is their policy when you leave them. The account was paid, not within the 13 days but the collections shows up on my credit report and rogers will not remove it.

Thanks ROGERS, so much for all the years they had my business

Don’t Buy From Sears

By fedupwithsears

Sears’ delivery is the worst I have very experienced. they call to say that it will be a morning delivery on Saturday and that my area is done first so expect them anytime after 8:30. I set the alarm for 7:30 sat morning. meanwhile at 12:30 they are still not here and the delivery guy calls to say they are running behind and they expect to be here at 2 or 3.

Moral of the story is that you buy at sears and you get exceptionally poor service. The item-a mattress was 800 and they charged me 65 for delivery!

Horrible Zellers Says “No Coupons, No Price Match”

By H

I am completely appalled and disgusted with the customer service department, sales representatives, and cashiers at the Zellers location at County Fair Plaza, 499 Mohawk Road East in Hamilton, Ontario.

Every time I try and shop at this location, I encounter problems:

Store shelves are never stocked, cans are always dented, the whole store is a mess - you can barely navigate the aisles with the cart without knocking things off the end of shelf displays they’re so narrow.

The store is dirty, it smells dirty, and items on the shelf are dusty.

Employees are playing on their cell phones; customer service is next to null.

In any event, my most recent visit to Zellers has me never wanting to return to any Zellers location, redeem my current HBC points balance for Air Miles, and cut up the card!

I was attempting to Price Match the current Rexall PharmaPlus flyer. In addition to the Price Matching on my shopping list, I was also purchasing several items in the Zellers store that were on sale. In the store, there was a promotion, that if you spent $15 on P&G products, you would receive 20,000 HBC points. After seeing this, I adjusted my purchases in order to spend $15  which simply stated before taxes and use your P&G coupons here!

I had coupons for almost every item I had planned on purchasing and denied the use of all of them. I will go through my intended order here:

-3 x Multibionta 30s Probiotic Multivitamins, Price Matched to Rexall for $9.99. I had 3 x 10.00 coupons for any Multibionta that I found in magazines, expiring at the end of September and December. I was told that I could not use any of these coupons, as they would be free, and that the coupon was more than the item, so I could not use it either the coupon would have had to have been 9.98for me to use it and for it not to be free. In addition, at this point, I was told I could not Price Match, and use a manufacturer coupon.

-2 x Old Spice Deodorant, Price Macthed to Rexall for $1.49. I had the new P&G coupon, Buy 2 Old Spice products, save $3 - again for the same reason as highlighted above, I was unable to use this coupon.

-3 x Gillette Foamy shave gel, on sale at Zellers, for $1.49

I had the new P&G coupon Buy 3 Gillette products, save $5 I was unable to use this coupon, because the value of the coupon was more than the cost of the products and I would be getting them for free

-2 x Coke (12×355mL cans) on sale at Zellers, for $3.69

I had earned a coupon for Buy one 12 pack case Get one Free from iCoke redemption. I was redirected to websaver.ca to order this coupon.  I was unable to use this coupon as I was told it was “too good to be true and it must be fake

-1 x Venus razor, on sale at Zellers, - razor promotion  it would have been $8.99 after the discount. I had the new P&G coupon, Save $2 when you buy any Venus or Daisy razor. I was unable to use this coupon because I was not allowed to use a coupon on a sale

-2 x Crest 3D Whitening tooth paste  on sale at Zellers for $1.99. I had 2 x $1.00 coupons from the P&G BrandSampler earlier this year. I was unable to use this coupon because, as stated above, not allowed to use a coupon on a sale

I had also picked up a bottle of B-12 and a pair of shorts for my husband. (No coupons for those)

The order had to be rung up twice .the whole time the cashier was giving me dirty looks, the cashier on the next register was even worse  rude looks and rude words, such as you should just pay full price and don’t be so cheap. I was also told that the coupons could not be marked-down.

1. Order went smoothly, apparently, until the cashier hit total  what she said and inquired about my coupon for the Multibionta. After not being allowed to use the coupon that I had intended to use, I told the cashier that I did not want the products. The whole order had to be voided.

At this point, because of the remarks about my coupons, and my order having to be voided. I requested the number for head office. I was given the phone number (905) 389-2281 on a piece of register tape. From looking at the number, I could see that this was a Hamilton number. This frustrated me even more.

2. Order was rung up again, less the Multibionta, the Old Spice coupon caused a problem, because I was not allowed to use the coupon and the order had to be voided. At this point, I was fuming. Knowing that this would be the case again once they got to the $5 Gillette coupon, I asked for the return of my coupons and left the store empty-handed.

When I returned home, I attempted to call the number I was given, where I learned that this was the phone number for the store and not head office.

After this shopping experience, I am more than upset, and frustrated. There are other stores that provide better service than Zellers, and I have no need to go Zellers again. I was going to Zellers because it is closest to my home and didn’t have too much time.

Because of all this, the store in general half the lights were off  other customers were joking about when the store would pay their electricity bill, the employees playing on their cell phones, and the service I received  or their lack of, due to my coupons, I have no reason to ever return to Zellers!

The employees dont seem to have customer retention on their mind, and seem to make up coupon policies on the spot. I have never felt so disgusted with a store in my life! They should be glad I was not a mystery shopper!!

Ecxel Toner Sucks!

By Ray Tracey

Ordered some odd printer ribbons from them that I needed in a hurry. First, the didn’t tell me they didn’t have them in stock. More than 3 weeks later, they show up by Canpar, slowest shipper on the planet. AND THEY’RE THE WRONG UNITS! Then they charged me a re-stocking fee to send them back. Excel toner BLOWS!

Horrible Experience at Canadian Tire

By Carla

Our family went to CT to purchase a shed and found the shed we wanted. We had seen a picture of the shed on a display billboard they had in that department and proceeded to find someone to help us. We first had to hunt down the employee that was in that department first(cause everyone else we asked new nothing) 20 minutes later he showed up and we asked to see a display model of that shed, was told that they do NOT have one. We asked some questions like snow load, will it stand up to our winters etc.? He said it should “we wouldn’t sell it if it didn’t”. So we bought it and took it home to assemble the next day. When we started of course you have to find the instructions and you would think the instructions would be in box #1 but they were in box #4. We started reading the instructions and the first thing they tell you make sure all the piece’s are there, we did that. Then we read that the shed does not have a very good snow load rating and that made us feel very leary about the shed. So we put all the piece’s back in their box’s and took it back to CT. Because of the price I would imagine that, that is why they called the manager for the return. The manager looked at the shed box’s and told us that we will not be getting a full refund because we opened the box’s. We informed him that in order to to put the shed together you have to open the box’s to find the instructions! or to get more info about the product. He could have cared less!! He told us that he will take the shed and put it on the floor to sell and whatever they get for it that will be our refund. We suggested getting the manufacture involved but he refused. He said they do not give refunds or exchanges and that they only supply warranty parts only. So we agreed to try to sell it and said it’s better than nothing and left the shed with them. A month had gone by and there was NO contact made to keep us in the loop about it so we went up there to see how things were going and found the shed assembled and being used as their DISPLAY MODEDL!!! no price on it or any tags for that matter as well it had been damaged by weather and other customers! We asked for the manager that we were dealing with and was told that he was gone for the day. We demanded that they get him on the phone regardless and the employee was rude and very snarky and huffed away to call him(even though there was a phone right in front of her!)She came back and told us that she was unable to get a hold of him and that to go home he will call us! We asked why it got set up and she said that, that is what we agreed to. We NEVER agreed to give it to them to use as a display!! She shrugged us off and said she could not help us anymore. So we have no shed and are out the sum of $1456.21. I am not sure how they can sleep at night knowing that they ripped of a family. I will never set foot on CT property ever again!!

Lenscrafters : Be Warned

By Elizabeth Chase

I purchased prescription glasses from Lenscrafters Calgary Alberta at the Chinook Centre in 2009 and need my lenses prescription upgraded this year 2011.I returned to that location. The Manager told me my glasses were a one time purchase at $650. and could not be upgraded. She apologized that the sales person did not warn me that this would be a one time purchase. What!!!!!!! Who the hell buys perscription glasses that can not be upgraded. She offered me a second pair of frames at half price but I do not want to buy a second pair of frames.I went to several other stores who offered to change the lenses, no problem. Never going back to Lenscrafters and I will warn anyone I know about the conditions of purchase there as well as the Better Business Bereau.

Property Damage During Sears Appliance Delivery

By Extremely Disappointed

Absolutely unbeleivable! I went with Sears to buy stove, fridge and dishwasher, because “I thought” Sears had a good reputation! Nothing could be further from the truth!!

I spent over $4000 on these appliances and have been treated like garbage when dealing with the property damage done to my house during delivery. No one wants to take responsibility, I have been “mistakenly” disconnected, the person I need to talk to is always either “just left for the day” or “in a meeting”. Sears must have 24 hour a day meetings for all their supervisors and managers. The delivery guys were rude and arrogant as well.

I will absolutely, positively NEVER buy anything else from Sears, and I will GLADLY share my experience with as many people as I can.

Beyond The Rack Scam?

By Lena

I have recently for the first time purchased a product from Beyond the Rack. As opposed to all the negative reviews regarding the amount of time that it takes to ship the product, it actually came within the week and i was quite content. However, I purchased a pair of Ray ban sunglasses 3267 and the label on the box indicated the same but the glasses inside were model 3362. Interesting, so i sent them an email indicated that the wrong glasses were sent in and asked if a refund would be provided. Their policy was credit only if i didn’t like it but because it was wrong, she indicated that it would be refunded plus the cost of shipping that i would need to put forth the send it back. So much hassle!! So i contemplated keeping them but looking at them further, it was missing the made in..lettering on the inside arm. All the raybans i’ve seen have this inside. BTR has a guarantee of authenticity advertised on every product page. Interesting. So i sent an email back indicating that it may be fake. Her response was acceptable. BTR gets them from “authorized dealers with authentic products” Send them back and you will get your money back. But to keep me as a customer i felt they should have taken it more seriously. So I responded…

I’m not trying to be difficult but I want BTR to take responsibility for there suppliers instead of blaming them. I am your customer and not your suppliers. Every page that advertises a product for sale clearly states that:

Our guarantee of brand authenticity.

Every item on our site comes directly from the manufacturer, a licensed agent, retailer, or importer, and is guaranteed authentic brand name merchandise.

Instead of pushing the blame, i would have rather preferred that a comment like that ending with something like “However, BTR only deals with authorized dealers with authentic products.”…but we will investigate this supplier once the product is returned and follow up that goes like..we have investigated the supplier and found that they are no longer a reliable source and have discontinued the relationship as we value our guarantee of authenticity. Out of curiosity, how does BTR ensure the quality of the products that they are selling is authentic? For a company that is going to guarantee authenticity i would appreciate taking this concern more seriously. I will not be sending these back as I do not have confidence in BTR that a refund will be provided. I am also going to perform my own investigation and have these authenticated and may be in contact with you future. Thanks in advance.

Buyer Beware.

Winners Didn’t Honour Tag Price

By Mercedy

I went shopping at Winners (at wem)yesterday and found this cute dress for work, it was in the clearance section Reg price $29.99 marked down to $12.99. I hardly find dresses that fit me right and the price was even better. I went to pay for it and the Cashier said that the “red clearance sticker” price was wrong and continued to look at me like I switched it!! He found the “correct price” which was $24.99, how is that a clearance price??!! I told him that was mis advertising a price and I should get it for the sticker price, he rolled his eyes at me and said “well we cant babysit the evening price clerks, do you want the dress or not?”……..I ended up not buying the dress and I am very disappointed in Winners.

FCUK Yorkdale Complaints

By Krissy

I recently had one of the worst experiences at FCUK. I visited Eaton Centre location in Toronto and used a coupon from Styledemocracy. I have noticed that all items are FINAL Sale, meaning you can only do 1 time exchange only. I have noted that, and knew that to begin with.

2 days after my purchase, I went to Yorkdale location to do an exchange only - same size, same style, colour was different. I did not want any cash back, hence I knew that is not allowed.

I went to the staff at the cashier, and the girl did not know how to do the exchange, so she called the manager. Manager comes up, say, “sorry, final sale. No exchanges allowed.” She calls the originated store, and tells me to go back there.

I called the head office, and nobody returns my call, so I emailed them. And head office comes back, saying I wanted a refund? Not sure where they got that from, I never mentioned the cash back, I wanted to get the exchange only to a different colour. Hmmm…. I assumed people made up stuff, and made me look some kinds of weirdo who wanted to get the money back.

Not sure how they communicated, but it was not a pleasant experience, and will certainly not go back. Staff should know the final sale policy, as it states that exchanges are allowed. Customers should not teach them, they should learn their own sales policy.

Charged for Tire Disposal at Walmart

By GPtech

I purchased a set of four tires from Walmart and was charged the 5.00 per tire eco fee for recycling.

I got home I realized they had placed the four old tires in my car.

I figure they would keep the $20 for themselves and I would have to pay the fee twice to dispose of them.

I am taking them back tomorrow and asking why they would try such a scam.

Expedia Screwed Us Over

By Amy

We frequently book with Expedia and have no problems. This time we waited and waited for the best price to book. After the price not fluctuating for weeks we finally booked. Less than 24 hours later I noticed the price drop. I called the customer service number given on the Expedia.ca website and it took 45 minutes to get through. I was then told I had called the wrong number. Great! So they transferred me to the Canadian line. The agent I dealt with would not listen to me and was basically reading from a script. I was told they would not honor their “best price guarantee” because it is not a vacation, it is a flight and hotel package. I was very upset. He told me he could cancel my trip and re book it at the lower price but I would have to pay the cancellation fees. I got a reference number from him so I could file a complaint and it turns out he gave he the wrong number. What I got back from Expedia after I filed my complaint was basically a form email saying screw you just suck it up. I told them I would tell all my friends, family and even complete strangers. If you value time, money and customer service I suggest you never book with Expedia!

Ignored at Walmart

By GP

Quite some time ago I went to Walmart intending to purchase a new watch.

There were three of us at the Jewelery counter looking at various items.

The clerk who was fairly young was busy talking to her girlfriend and after being ignored for quite some time the other two left and I finally left and purchased my watch from a very friendly and efficient clerk at Zellers.

It seems that some clerks are more interested in gabbing than serving customers.
