Canada Post Sucks Big Time

By Moe

I mailed some very important documentation using Canada post. The lady at the post office told me if I pay $ 65.00 my mail will reach its destination in 5 business days. I paid my money and its now 60 days and Canada post is unable to find my mail. The last information they got is Mississauga. I’ve spent over $200.00 to do those papers, all government documents.

Now I am afraid that the US immigration will cancel my papers because of the negligence of Canada post. This is wrong and I wish they close down and a better company opens.

Are you serious? You wished that a better “company” opens?? Like what? Letters-R-Us? Perhaps with important documents, you should have chosen a different “company”, such as UPS, or Fed-Ex??? Get real.

AGREE! Even though they are going on strike, Canada Post doesn’t even seem to be doing a good job. I returned a product to Proactiv through Canada’s Post and I don’t think it reached it’s destination. $70 down the drain.

@Moe (I am a different Moe) - why didn’t you re-submit your papers to the USA a different way - if it has been more than 60 days?
I don’t blame you for being upset with Canada Post, but if you paid for 5 day delivery and have now been waiting more than 60 days - on important paperwork - you should have acted sooner.

I only use them when I have to and that is getting very little. It seems that their workers make a habit of checking birthday type cards to look for cash since every year I have 2-4 that never get to the recepients so I assume they open the card, see there is a check and throw it all away.

doesn’t matter if you have a tracking number or not. I have lost mail as well as a business associate and we both had tracking #’s both envies made it to Mississauga where they disappeared. Seems Canada Post has a mail thief there.

Agreed. i cannot begin to tell you how incompetent canada post workers are. They are worthless and they don’t deserve and pay raise. The govt. should just start firing anyone who is joining the strike. That will teach these useless guys a lesson. I am pretty sure anyone will be able to do these jobs considering how lazy and dumb these guys are. NEED A CHANGE!!!!!!!

I agree. They suck. They have delivered other peoples mail to me on a number of occasions (especially last year). They are slow lazy and incompitent. On strike ? why ? So people can discover new ways to recieve and send information … like say through … email or internet banking or paperless billing or online coupons or fedex or puralator. Hey maybe we should start are own delivery service. The mail could be delivered by seniors and teenagers … they would do a better job for sure… and they wont complain! I hope they all lose their “high enough” paying jobs and have to go get minimum wage positions without benifits. I repeat they suck.
P.S. deliver the rest of my mail you jerks … don’t worry 2 things I am waiting for will be the last you will deliver to my house. Long live puralator. Computers of the land unite!

I have been expecting a parcel through Canada post for over three weeks now. The shipping time quoted by the company I ordered from was 7-10 days. I check the tracking number this morning and it says that it was delivered to me today. Funny, postman was already here and nothing. Canada Post and all it’s employees are over paid, incompetent idiots. We should have fired them all during the strike and re-hired starting around $15/hr to people that would appreciate and work hard for that kind of money. Living in a town where the average paying job is $10/hr it would’ve been easy to fill the positions. Canada Post is a dinosaur in a digital era where they’ll someday face extinction. With email, electronic banking, paperless billing and courier services existing in abundance, one would think that our postal workers and it’s union would realize that they are becoming outdated and unnecessary. Here’s to the downfall of Canada Post.

Canada Post does totally and completely suck, I have had 2 parcels go “missing” in as many weeks and I’m pissed off! One of the parcels was a $200.00 pair of cycling shorts and the other one was a vintage and valuable marble from the Akro Agate Company, I am absolutely certain there are one or more cocksuckers within Canada Post reading the slips of paper that state the contents and picking and choosing what they want out of the pile, if I EVER discover one of these dim bulbs and/or find out who they are…….fucking look out!! I will unleash such a fury of violence that it is unlikely the over payed cunt will survive, I am that mad about it and will never EVER use Canada Post for anything again, and I know many people who feel the same way, they’re going down. In this case I would welcome privatization.

    DP Jones says...

Again!! Another parcel missing! More cycling gear stolen! This time it was Endura leg warmers and overshoes, over $100.00 worth of winter gear just gone! Something must be done about it, we should make Canaduh Post pay reimbursements instead of the sellers, maybe they would get their shit together, but somehow I doubt it. What we need to do is find one of the thieving cocksuckers and make an example out of him/her, remember American History X ? “Put your teeth on the curb”……….video camera in hand, footage of a postal thief being “disciplined” posted on youtube just might be the kind of message we need the others to see.

When I pay to have a parcel shipped to my home it doesn’t mean I want a card delivered to my mail box saying I can get my parcel the next day after 1 pm. That is what they do now. I am home every day and the card says I was not there to receive my package. That is why I am paying UPS or Purolator from now on.I have had it with the whining and strikes of Canada Post. For all I care. They can fold. Go to hell Canada Post and your employees.

I was waiting for a credit card from Toronto… called Capital one and they told me it was sent in the mail on Friday October 7th 2011… at the same time they send me the pin number so I can activate it… I get the pin number in the mail on Monday the 17th.. which was long enough I might add to get something in Calgary that was sent from Toronto. So after waiting another 2 weeks I call to have the card canceled thinking its lost in the mail on Thursday October 27th… they tell me that they will mail me a new one… then guess what shows up on Friday the 28th?… that’s right, my freaking credit card (Which has now been deactivated)… so tell me how these two envelopes could be mailed out on the same day… and one arrives 2 weeks later then the first ! ! ! And for something that was mailed out on the 7th From Toronto, to take 21 days (15 Bus. days) to get to Calgary… absolutely pathetic… CANADA POST SUCKS THE BIG ONE ! ! !
I will never give them another red cent… I would rather pay double to Fed X the ever use this pathetic service again… and this is only one of many stories I have but it was this one that drove me over the edge and lead me to this website.

I am so frustrated with them. I have a small business and I rely on shipping small items. I can’t afford UPS but Canada Post is so unreliable I am now dealing with 2 clients at the same time with problems. I use PayPal to ship and they were so helpful, Canada Post people don’t seem to care! They say oh, 6-12 business days is a guideline and you cannot open a ticket for 75 DAYS after. That insane.

However it would be hard to ever start a competing company because they are subsidized by the government and have a monopoly in Canada. I think they should fire people who are not doing a good job! Keep track of how many packages a certain carrier or employee loses, if they lose to much, then they are not doing a good job!

Sorry for the rant, but I am upset with them and feel so helpless. As a small business I do everything I can to keep customers happy, Canada Post does not care and makes my clients uphappy!

They really do suck. Every time I use their service they never actually deliver my package to me. I don’t even get a note that they came! I check online and it says they attempted a delivery when I know for a fact they didn’t. They probably don’t even bother getting in the elevator of my building to actually come to my door. I was home all day on one of the days the said they attempted a delivery.

I know I’m late to the party, but I have had so many issues with Canada post, that I think twice about posting anything now. Right now, I’ve been waiting for 9 days for an expedited parcel that they have lost. I really do wonder what the point of their tracking system is, if in fact, when looking at it, they have no idea where the parcel is. We also consistently get mail delivered for the wrong address. And they aren’t even cheap… I could go on, but I’m getting too worked up just thinking about it.

It’s management, every year they make more profits but are unwilling to put that money into service, instead they line their pockets. In Saskatoon we don’t even get mail delivery every day. Mail sits for weeks on contractor routes because Canada Post doesn’t pay a decent wage to these workers. Basically, they can’t keep people on these routes so delivery in certains areas, Briarwood, Hampton, Rosewood, is nonexistent.

I cannot get over the constant incompetence of Canada Post!! Even if you pay for tracking and signature they don’t provide the service you paid for! Shipped a defective coat from Cambridge Ontario to Montreal and paid extra to have tracking and signature. Thankfully I also pilaid fir insurance because they said they delivered but couldn’t provide me with proif as the signature was never obtained!!

Ordered a camera from BestBuy and they unfortunately ship Canada Post. Been waiting since Dec 24 and saw they updated with “Delivery attempted, card left” at 7:23am. First, why would they try so early? Second, we were all home, no ring or knock (and we have a small yappy dog that alerts us to a leaf blowing by so the truck would have warranted serious noise), third…they didn’t leave a card on the front door, in the house box or in the locked community box!!

Called to inquire and they said the driver probably didn’t have theequipment required to verify my ID… hmm… are they hiring blind drivers or drivers who can’t read now??? Then was told could pick ip after 1pm. When I called outlet I was told it would be at least 3pm before I could pick up.

We regularly get mail to the wrong address!!

    Brad says...

They were kind enough to leave my $100 package sitting outside my door, in the hallway of a large apartment building. Didn’t even bother to knock, I was home all day. They also consistently damage parcels I have coming in by forcing the parcel into my tiny little mailbox (of course, this is when they choose to deliver it, normally I simply get the ticket with no attempt made to contact me). Made several complaints, both in general, and about my carrier, and wouldn’t you know it’ NOTHING was done. The customer service rep’s (over the phone) suggestion was “if it’s something important, you shouldn’t use an uninsured package.” To which I responded “and if this happened, once in a blue moon, fine, but EVERY TIME something goes wrong with you people.” “I’m sorry sir, unfortunately there is nothing I can do for you today. Is there anything else I can help with?” SO incompetent!

YUP- late packages, packages not delivered or delivered to the wrong address, the brown person in customer service that does not want to help you out AND your company that lost business AND CLIENTS because of it. I’ve been there and done that with Canada Post. Lesson learned. Somehow these guys think that they need to go on strike every year or two. I don’t know why, since their jobs will all be gone in a couple of years anyway. INCOMPETENCE is indeed the word of the day. The sooner that this OBSOLETE ESTABLISHMENT is removed from the TEAT of the union and restricted from receiving our tax dollars, the better!

It gets worse by the day. MY office in Hamilton is now getting mail every second day only….I have no idea why. I cancelled my mail for 2 weeks during Christmas and when it restarted - only 3 pieces of mail showed up! I was shocked….we should have had 40 or 50 pieces. All kinds of cheques never arrive. One company mailed us a sizeable cheque before Christmas and it took almost a month to get here. Now that they have trucks..sometimes my mail deliverer will leave a piece or two of mail, then the truck pulls up a half hour later with another piece and once…a half later again - one more piece. She must find them on the floor of the truck. I send no invoices by mail any longer and rarely do I go to a mailbox. However, people do send cheques by mail…and that’s what keeps my company going. Receiving mail every second day is unacceptable in this economy when cash-flow is often critical. I no longer have any trust of or hope in Canada Trust. It’s over.

I cannot express how much I dislike Canada Post! I ordered a keyboard from Best Buy in December. They fulfilled their part of the shipping process by the 30th and transferred it to Canada Post that day. I expected to receive it on the 6th of January which was within their 7-day guarantee but that never happened. When I called to inquire they would have no reason as to why the parcel was late. Finally I had Best Buy file an investigation and it was found that the parcel was sent from Vancouver to Missisauga and back due to a processing error, even though Missisauga is 30 minutes away from me. They claimed that they had solved the problem and the package was on it’s way, due to arrive on the 16th. That never happended either and I’m still calling with no proper answer as to why it is late TWICE!!!! And I’m STILL waiting and by next week it will have been a month since I ordered the piano keyboard. MAN I hate them!!! :@

Selling on ebay means shipping by Canada Post; every so often a buyer claims a refund because the merchandise did not arrive, and ebay simply debits my credit card - no recourse! We are powerless in the face of this uncaring civil “service”!

Comedy of errors!! Parcel sent from the UK, signature required. Tracking 18 hours late on updating. Tracking updates 18 hours later inform me that in that time they made an attempt to deliver package, no one was home(lies) and
notification card was left. I then realize that someone else has picked up my package. Who? I have no idea, but they obviously did not ask for ID or if they did they never even looked at it. Sender thinks I’ve received my package as that is what it confirms on the tracking history. I’ve been robbed! Fraud has happened and CANADA POST could care less. I’ll never get my package as it is not missing as such, and the employee that handed over my parcel to a stranger still has a job.

People make mistakes, but when they don’t follow their own process and lie on the tracking logs, they really do need to be fired. I tracked a package from China to Canada, and then back to China within the span of a couple days. Kudos for the speed of the delivery, but they forgot that it was a one-way journey. When I showed them all the evidence that they screwed it up, they were very rude and told me that it was “under investigation”. Tha was the end of that story… unfortunately it wasn’t the last time it happened. I nornally pay the extra to avoid Canada Post, but unless I become a profssional export broker and fly out to Vancouver, I don’t always have a choice. Does Canada Post really understand how much their service is hurting Canadian import economy?

It was not there, and they can not track it. Becasue it was not there on time it will mean a great financial loss to her. It is insured for 100 dollars–big deal. They will return the 28 dollars. If they can not provide the next day service which should have proper tracking, why offer it. And if you complain they might get back to you in 2-3 days. They should re name it PATHETIC POST.

Canada Post is archaic and needs to be shut down. I’ve has it with government employees who are grossly overpaid and underachieving. My story:
    1. I send a time-sensitive package on Thursday for guaranteed delivery by Friday 5pm.
    2. The tracking number shows that it is delivered. (it’s not)
    3. The start of multiple calls..
    A. It will be delivered by 5.
    B. It will be delivered by 8.
    C. Everyone is gone by 5pm. It’s Friday, so it will be there first
    thing Monday morning.
    D. Monday morning: no package. Now I’m told that they don’t know
    what’s happening, but don’t worry - I’ll get an ‘inquiry’ in 10-15
    business days.
WTF???? I want a package delivered. How difficult is that? They should fire every driver or whomever is responsible for lost or stolen mail. Welcome to the real world, not your union fairy tale.

I agree 100%. Between the union and poor management, they have a culture of entitlement that will only be broken by layoffs. The problem (or part of it) is that there are no consequences for poor service other than us taking our business elsewhere, and that is happening fast. If a minimum wage employee at a courier company has more concern about a missing parcel than a union wage earner at Canada Post, you know there’s a problem right up the line. I’m not goint to detail my two problems over Christmas, but I can say that after these experiences I will pay a little extra and use UPS or Fedex, never Canada Post. They just don’t care.

I agree That Canada Post is the most inefficient uncaring organization that I have dealt with, from buying a stamp to letters, to parcels. I too have a number of issues which I will not detail here, because of space. However, the biggest problem is that we rant and complain and no one at Can -Post listens. They just don’t care. We say we are going elsewhere and we don’t! and we vote the men and women in who could change things, but they don’t! The real problem lies with the consumer. We should be people of our word and don’t patronize them period! Then the problems would be over, because THEY WOULD BE GONE! What a wonderful thought, to have a world free of CANADA POST! Lets bring it on guys.

Canada Post sucks. They take forever and they NEVER scan anything (one time, I got told, “some people just don’t scan stuff and there’s not much we can do about it”). My latest package was processed by USPS within a day of ordering it (with four different scans in NJ) and since then it has not been scanned even once…IN NINE DAYS! Great job Canada Post! You really suck. Consistently.

    Canada Post sucks!

I’m sick of funding this bloated mess of a crown corporation.

Sending anything by CP is a real risk. Letters and packages routinely vanish without a trace. Canada Post employees help themselves to packages, and nobody cares.

It’s time to shut down Canada Post Corporation forever. Today.

I have many packages lost by the Canada Post. They are doing a horrible job but they demand better benefit and salary? Get real! Today I just lost a package that I bought from the state. It says item had been delivered but I never received it. The guy that I was talking to wasn’t even helpful and he sounds very rude. I live in a condo and we have a policy states all packages have to go through concierge which there will be a signature as to who receive it. I asked him who received my package but the guy said there was no signature. I told him if there is no signature then the concierge did not receive it. (I have talked to the concierge to check that too) He kept repeating “the sender did not request for signature” I know that. But there is no way the Canada Post driver delivered the item without the signature of the concierge. In the end he wouldn’t open the investigation for me and he said it’s the sender responsibility, not me. This is ridiculous! It’s Canada Post’s responsibility to lost so many packages!!!!!
