Out of Stock at RCSS

By Kevin

For the second time in two months I have gone to the Real Canadian Liquorstore in Signal hill (Calgary) to buy an item listed in a flyer. The flyer came out today for a promotion set to run for five days, but lo and behold the store had none of the item in stock. The clerk gave me a half-assed shrug and said they were unable to get any stock. Maybe tomorrow? This is phony and misleading advertising plain and simple. If you cannot get any stock, then do not advertise the product. I’m done with Real Canadian Superstore.

Did you request a raincheck on the product? (Im not sure if legally they can issue with alcohol).

RSCC liquorstore, to me is like any other major bargain store. They list an amazing price, and if you want to get your hands on it, you best be there first day of the sale, when it opens.

Ive had the same issue, but because I obviously know its a great deal, I just settle for something else in the store when I am there.

I HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH RCSS, AND I WHOLEHEARTEDLY AGREE. THE ONLY STORE THAT I’VE FOUND TO BE WORSE - FOR PRICES, ATTITUDE AND SERVICE, IS THEIR SISTER STORE, LOBLAWS. IF YOU REQUEST A RAINCHECK BE PREPARED FOR A NASTY ATTITUDE AT CUSTOMER SERVICE. IF THEY HAVE THE ITEM IN STOCK, THEY WILL OFTEN RING IT THROUGH AT REGULAR PRICE - IF YOU ASK THE CASHIER ABOUT IT, YOU GET SENT TO CUSTOMER SERVICE, WHERE THEY TREAT YOU TO THE SAME NASTY ATTITUDE THEY CUSTOMARILY OFFER. THE OTHER STAFF MAY BE OKAY - BUT CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFERS ANYTHING BUT SERVICE. THE STAFF AT THESE STORES ACT LIKE YOU’RE ASKING THEM FOR A FAVOUR IF YOU ASK THEM FOR A RAINCHECK. THEY ALSO ACT AS THOUGH THEY’RE DOING YOU A FAVOUR BY ALLOWING YOU TO SPEND YOUR MONEY IN THEIR STORE. I NO LONGER INTEND TO SHOP THERE. THEY ARE NOT ONLY GUILTY OF FALSE ADVERTISING AND BEING OUT OF STOCK ON SALE PRODUCTS - ALTHOUGH THEY ARE FAMOUS FOR THIS.

I’VE STARTED SHOPPING ELSEWHERE MYSELF, AFTER BEING A LOYAL CUSTOMER AT THESE TWO STORES (RCSS AND LOBLAW) FOR MANY, MANY YEARS. I NOW WHOP AT MY LOCAL WALMART SUPERSTORE. (I’VE FOUND THE NO FRILLS AND THE FOOD BASICS IN MY AREA TO BE QUITE GOOD AS WELL - I GO THERE FOR CERTAIN ADVERTISED SALES.) IN GENERAL, SHOPPING AT WALMART AND THESE OTHER TWO STORES (IE NOT SHOPPING AT RCSS/LOBLAWS) HAS SAVED ME AT LEAST 40-50% ON MY BILLS. I NOW SHOP THERE FOR MY GROCERIES, PERSONAL PRODUCTS AND CLEANING SUPPLIES, AND I’D NEVER GO BACK. THE WALMART SUPERSTORE IN PARTICULAR HAD VERY GOOD SERVICE - ALTHOUGH CUSTOMER SERVICE PERSONNEL CAN ON OCCASION BE RUDE THERE TOO, THE MANAGEMENT SEEMS HELPFUL AND THEY SEEM TO WANT TO KEEP THEIR CUSTOMERS, WHICH IS MORE THAN I CAN SAY FOR RCSS/LOBLAWS.

THIS SADDENED ME, BECAUSE I WANTED TO GO TO CANADIAN STORES. BUT I’M NOT GOING TO GO TO RCSS OR LOBLAWS ANYMORE. MANY PEOPLE HAVE TOLD ME THAT THEY CAN’T FIND SALE PRODUCTS THERE WHEN THEY ADVERTISE SALES - IT’S NOT JUST ME, APPARENTLY! SO I’VE HAD IT.

I HOPE THAT OTHER PEOPLE WILL BOYCOTT THEM IN FAVOUR OF OTHER STORES….MAYBE THEY’LL LEARN THE MEANING OF CUSTOMER SERVICE AND WILL TRY TO SHOW THEIR APPRECIATION FOR OUR PATRONAGE BY NOT TRYING TO DUPE US, BY OFFERING BETTER PRICES, AND MOST OF ALL, BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I will soon be done with the RCSS as each and every week I cringe at the thought of going grocery shopping. Now the reason I haven’t gone elsewhere yet is the RCSS is only a block and 1/2 from my home and I currently don’t drive. In the last year I’ve gone through at least 6 returns for bad foods as well as numerous price scanning errors and poor customers service and poor attitude from more than one cashier. I also find the place crowded and dirty, but it is close and has good hours so I’m using it just for now but I’m getting another car very soon and will venture somewhere else to purchase my weekly groceries. My daughter just finished getting over food poisoning from some deli lunch meat that was hand cut and packaged right in front of us by the deli clerk but it made my 16 year old very ill and it’s been reported but the assistant manager I spoke with didn’t even apologize for this! As a matter of fact I think I’ll just stay away from the RCSS for good starting now!

your all just complaining, its FOOOD the same thats in your fridge! it will go bad! it is DEFINETELY not the store problem if tey are sold out of a product because its on sale, thats why theres these little papers called rainchecks. if you see somethings bad, dont buy it? better yet, find another store, if all you have to do is complain.
