My family and I went to Boston Pizza Major Mackenzie Drive E Markham Ontario for my son’s birthday, the floor of the restaurant was filthy with little pieces of paper everywhere(this should have been cleaned BEFORE the restaurant opened. We waitied over 45 minutes for our order to be taken WHEN it finally arrived my husbands steak was burnt, my hamburger and fries were cold with an oily greasy stuff under the fries. I complained by email to the manager and heard from him within 2 days, He basically called me a liar as they keep tabs on when the order is taken and delivered to the table AND then he said we short changed the final bill-the final bill was $50.53, I left $51.00 PLUS a $10 tip-my husband questioned me later why I had even left a tip at all as the food and the service were terrible. So they offered us a 20% discount on our next meal-like that’s going to happen.

i wouldn’t have emailed.i would have asked righ then and there for a gratuity off of my bill.for the bad service and the bad food.ive done it before.it usually gets resolved quickly right then and there as you can get the floor manager and let them know the service and food is sub par..leaving a tip is sometimes necessary if you have above and beyond good service and good food.people get into the habit of tipping, but honestly i never tip unless the service made me go “this deserves a tip”.they are payed to serve you.i wouldn’t have tipped at all in this situation.the one you called was rude.best to resolve it in person right after the fact i would say,in a restaurant setting.sorry this ruined your kids birthday.next time, don’t tip and ask for a manager straight away.

oh..and the 20% off should ahve been a free meal or atleast half off your bill.this happened to me where they offered me next meal savings and i simply said “i wont be eating here i dont think so can i please just have half off this bill?” done and never went there again…this was after raw chicken and rude waitress telling my son to please not be so loud…he is 4…

You made two errors here, first of all if the meal was bad DO. NOT. TIP. or better yet leave 1 penny to get your point across.
Second of all you should have spoken to a manager at the time, if you email later the manager is guaranteed to take a defensive stand because in his mind he thinks “if it was so bad why didn’t they ask for me at the time” and if he investigates and find out you left (a somewhat large) tip he’s even less likely to believe it was bad and just think you’re looking for a freebie.
I’m very sorry for your bad experience as the Boston Pizza I used to visit @ Rimrock road was great.

You should perhaps try calling the head office but I agree with the others that you should have spoken up right away. If your husbands steak was burnt it should have been sent back so they could prepare a new one (but after 45 minutes who really wants to do that?)
I had a similar situation at applebees where we waited for 45mins to be seated and then we waited another 45 mins for our order to come and they gave us the meal free that night. We left a $20 tip for the waitress because it wasn’t her fault the kitchen staff was slow.

It’s useless to talk to anybody at their head office. I had an issue with them once and they completely sided with the waitress and manager despite the fact they were in the wrong. The gentleman that I talked to at head office spoke to me in a condescending tone and treated me like a complete moron. It’s once of the last restaurants I’d ever consider going to.

I would try sending an email to their head office. We had an issue with food quality on a delivery order from Boston Pizza. My husband emailed head office and expressed his displeasure and they replied back promptly, and told him they would be mailing him out vouchers to give them a try again…..
I do agree with most people though, you should have tried to resolve this at the restaurant, it’s much easier to take care of it in person when it happens….
Good luck and sorry it was such a bad experience….

Boston Pizza has terrible service. Whatever you do don’t try to order online. They delivered 40 minutes past the requested time. I even gave them another chance and the same thing happened. I won’t be ordering from them again.

This one is just different from all. Boston Pizza, Queen Street, Brampton branch-Exceptional service by Ryan. I pushed to order for a large pizza whereas everyone in the family wanted a medium one. My reason was that we could get it packed if left. Same thing happened-we got it packed and forgot to pick it up. Left the site and came back in 15 minutes when we realised half way that we forgot. Ryan said that they threw it away as we had left. Here is what made me furious - The manager “VIK” comes in to talk to me. No courtesy at all whatsoever. This is what he says - “We throw such things away because of health violation issues. If you want to complain, go to the website and my name is VIK”. I was stunned. The guy was so arrogant and non-courteous. I could understand the logic but was not at all impressed by the way he dealt with it. Anyway, what could you do. Simply got insulted and came out. Regret spending over a $1000 in that branch

My wife and i went to have dinner at Boston Pizza Friday night, April 13, 2012 after watching half game of blue Jays and Orioles. My wife craved wings. We waited 1/2 hr for them. When we got them they were so small. The waitress had asked us what dip we wanted with them, so we chose blue cheese, which we received in a thimble sized cup with 2 small celery sticks. We were surprised when we found out on the bill they charged us 2.99 for them. The waitress told us when questioned that she thought they were free & came with the order of wings.
POOR SERVICE BAD FOOD AND MOST IMPORTANTLY TOO EXPENSIVE.
I WILL NOT RECOMMEND BOSTON PIZZA TO ANYONE.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND BOSTON PIZZA TO ANYONE.

Just had the most aweful experience at Boston Pizza, Calgary, AB.
I ordered the Meatball Grinder sandwich and after a 30 min wait, the sandwich was cold. I mean the meatballs were chilly. So I informed the waitress and she took the food away and I had to wait another 30 mins for the next sandwich. By this time my Family was already half way thru thier meal. When it came, I asked for a takeaway box and that I would not be paying for this sandwich. The Manager came over and I told him I would have no problem paying for all the other entrees on my bill, for my Family. But that because I was not able to eat with my Family and waited an hour, and the first sandwich was cold, I suggested that the meatball sandwich be “on the house”. Nope. Boston Pizza would have none of it.
I recieved no discount and I did not get my sandwich bcause I refused to pay for it. I left hungry and agitated.
Never again Boston Pizza.
