We have found a way to stop them. We have a personal alarm and a Fox whistle. Blowing into the phone when they call stops them cold!

I work for TD. Just because the caller has an accent does not mean that it is a scam. We are a very diverse company and have a wide variety of people that work for our company. If someone calls you and starts asking you for information, do not give it out. If you are looking to do maitenance on your account we may ask security questions but when we call we NEVER ask for account numbers. We have the information when we do call!!

I forgot to say the company calls itself ammyy and is a 1 206 456 0661 number and is located in Washigton DC. I found that out by returning a call to them on my cell.

For the credit card scam don’t give them your card number just call your company and they’ll be glad to change your number for you. That’s if things get really messy. These people are also east Indians.

The caller for the computer scam going around Sudbury now, will tell you your CP has been hacked into and all your files are infected. Also that your anti-virus isn’t working anymore. He will have you pull up your anti’virus and it doesn’t work as before. They are all east Indians and tell you they’ll fix the problem for you bottom line at their cost 135.00 to 675.00 they’ll want your credit card number before starting. Just shut down and do a scan after or a system restore. It’s a scam. Don’t give them your ID number or IP number they want that two.

yea. called displayed shows 416 786 1214. East indian voice. Wants to know expiry number and personal information. Said Post Canada is on strike. I think it is a scam.

I get calls on my cellphone where a prerecorded message says they’re Rogers (doesn’t really matter what company, the action they want is the same) and that there’s something wrong with my account. “To speak to a representative, please press 1″ I heard of some type of scam a while ago where if you press 1 you get charged some ridiculous fee. So I always hang up. The number always seems to be a 1-8xx number.

this scam has been going around for years on both the telephone and internet. Most of the time they just guess at what card you have but most people have Visa and Mastercard from the Candaian bank which makes it quite a high odds of guessing correctly
